Burwood FC has hosted the travelling SoCal under 17 side made up of top players from across southern California. This was a chance for Burwood WILS to experience playing against a top flight team against some of the best age group footballers in the US. Safe to say WILS knew their undefeated record this season was at severe risk and SoCal didn’t disappoint showing a decent crowd at Blair Park why the US is the world’s number 1 football nation with a classy display and eight unanswered goals. The WILS chased down every ball, played with incredible commitment and almost had the last word with only a phenomenal save from the SoCal goalkeeper stopping a rocketing free kick. Jersey swaps and post-game pizza capped off a great footballing experience and perfect finals preparation.
