Cheered on by 100 plus supporters our Burwood Over 35 Women’s team were crowned Premiers & Grand Final Champions after a hard fought 1-0 win over a classy Leichardt Saints side.
Formed just four years ago the team has played two grand finals and gone from Division 3 to playing Div 1next season.
They were joined this year by a second 35 Women’s team that made the div 3 final in their first year together.
Our 35’s are the third Burwood FC female team in three years to be crowned Champions following our Under 12s and Under 19s. This is part of the Club’s long-term plan to invest in and grow female football in our community resulting in record number of teams and registrations this season.
Most importantly of all - they’re having a hell of a lot fun playing together.
Congratulations to the 35’s and their coach Ted “Lasso” Jackson on a stellar season.
